The proprietary Fluid Mechanics program consists of integrating
psychology, biomechanics, video analysis, exercise physiology, strength
and flexibility with hands-on personalized attention. Since its
inception Fluid Mechanics has stressed the importance of developing
swimmers to their fullest potential by nurturing the mind, body & spirit
of each athlete. Programs are targeted towards competitive swimmers on
all levels who seek to improve performance. Attendees walk away with the
confidence to set new goals and the knowledge needed to work towards
achieving them.
John received his BA degree from Indiana University, with concentrated
efforts in kinesiology, sport science and exercise physiology. He was
the captain of the Indiana University Swimming Team where he competed
and trained for 5 years under the legendary Dr. James E. “Doc”
Counsilman, considered to be the “father of competitive swimming”.
Throughout his experience in Indiana, John coached in Doc’s swim camps,
which were regarded as the top swimming camps in the world, and studied
his methods. Doc’s guidance and input in stroke mechanics, physiology,
applied psychology, strength training & injury prevention have been
integrated into all Fluid Mechanics programs.
After completing a successful teaching and coaching career in Indiana,
Ohio, California and New Jersey, John founded Fluid Mechanics, Inc. in
1987. Fluid Mechanics is an internationally respected aquatic consulting
firm whose students come from Asia, Europe, North America, South America
and Africa. Our consultants also travel worldwide to offer clinics,
workshops and camps. |
